On 10 November 2008, the MS KELHEIM was officially put into service. This 110 metre-long car carrier provides space for the transport of up to 260 vehicles on three decks. The integrated ramp at the bow, enabling the ship to tranship cars regardless of the equipment available at the ports, is only one of many innovative features of the “KELHEIM”.
The BLG Logistics’ automotive division operates seven inland vessels, five of which operate on the river Rhine and two on the Danube between the terminal of Kelheim and the port of Csepel near Budapest.
From the Kelheim car terminal to Hungary, the MS KELHEIM carries automobiles manufactured by car industry giant Ford, and for the return voyage, her decks are filled with new Suzuki cars.
